My wife needs a letter drafted to send to her prev Dr. stating that she had complications with her surgery & and now has sought another physician to correct the complications that arose & that there may be future litigation against him. The new Dr. won't do a fix it surgery without it. We don't blame him for wanting to cover himself. An aquaintance has a sister that's an attorney and she said $150 is her min charge that it would take less than 1/2 an hour. I am a contractor with very sporatic work and my wife can't work because of her botched up surgery. We don't have money to pay a lawyer anything and it has to be from some type of Lawyer or Paralegal Can someone help me draft this letter ?

look for an attack dog medical malpractice lawyer who'll take your wife's case on a contingency basis [percentage of the verdict].

She or he will draft the letter as part of their effort to get you a settlement with your wife's old doctor's malpractice insurance firm.

There should be no cash out of pocket cost to you at all this way.

just write the letter yourself. It doesn't have to come from an attorney's office. One reason the attorney fee could be high, is that after they send the letter, there will probably be a response from the Dr. to the attorney and maybe a phone call or two, and then they have to get back to you, their client. A simple letter usually turns into more time and contact.

May I suggest writing ambre.brandis@gmail.com
She is an attorney that probably can help you with this (she does a lot of pro bono work). As well, she will help you find an attorney in your state. I suggest writing Ambre with more details over the surgery that was botched. And be sure to mention that I suggested you to write her.
