One side of the planet would heat up and the other side would become incredibly cold, making the Earth uninhabitable.

i wish the 5 people who reported we would fall off have been joking. in the fast term the climate may be horrendous, great tsunamis, hurricanes etc, in the long term sometime may be the dimensions of a 365 days. the daylight hours facet of the planet might replace into boiling warm at an identical time as the night time facet will freeze. existence in simple terms does no longer be a danger. The earth's spin is slowing down already. it somewhat is being led to by utilising the moon. because it circles the earth it is gravity pulls on the water in the oceans inflicting the tides that are slowly slowing the rotation of the earth. finally the day would be 28 days long. yet this might take an exceptionally long term.

inertia would carry the Earth's atmosphere and moon away. Earth would become a lifeless ball of rock, similar to Mercury or the Moon. Without its movement around the sun, Earth's orbit around the sun would decay, eventually causing the Earth to tumble into the sun.

But the scope of this disaster would have to be so colossal that any event capable of causing Earth's rotation and spin to suddenly stop would likely demolish Earth in the first place. A head on collision with an object the size of Mars would do nicely

Depends where ur at when the world stop spinning. If you happen to be in the sun then you will not see another night, vice versa..With the modern technology we might be able to survive the heat or the cold. It is better to keep the world turning. At any time if u feel like the world is stop turning, you better roll up some more joints and smoke'em that will keep the world spinning.

Even if the earth stops spinning,it will be moving around the sun.In that case, each place will be exactly under the sun once in a year.In other words, one day will become one year.Accordingly weather and climatic conditions will change.

Any event which would cause the Earth to stop spinning would be so catastrophic that the Earth would be totally destroyed in the process. Have you never heard of conservation of angular momentum?

The side away from the sun would freeze, the side nearest would become like the Sahara, and only the "twilight" regions would support life, for a while anyway. Moving the entire population into those areas (and that assumes it would be on land, there is an equal chance it would be in the ocean) would lead to violence.

it will disturb the weather worldwide.i cannot give a straight answer but my guess will be that the world we know today would be gone pretty soon if this would happen...survival would be on the agenda of the human race, very tough as we all like our comfort and lost our touch with the wild.my verdict:we could survive this but we would all have to fight for our meals.on a long term...say 5000 years, the kings of the earth will be insects or little animals...say 50 000 years later...it will be hell on earth with no oxygen and microwave, all kind of harmful rays reaching but microbes will still be here...75000 years later...no more life forms...280 million years later, aliens colony passing by,stopping to observe there was life here.they use a clocking device to bring us back to life, then the earth is rolling again but they turn the clock back a bit too far,the dinosaurs roam back to life but the aliens destroy them as they find no possible contact with them.not wanting to use their device again because it uses too much energy, they leave our solar system and decide to come back later.god knows when...

We would have no seasons, it would permanent daylight one side and permanent night the other side. Plant and animal life would die out, human foods would soon be in short supply, weather patterns would cease which could mean either no rain or torrential rain. The ice caps would melt, living space would be at a premium. Human life would become extremely difficult....

It won't happen. But if it did, I guess we would all float away into space as the Earth disintegrates, but we would be dead long before we got to space and wouldn't know any thing about it.
