I will! From this day forward I will NOT buy a product made in China. Here's why:

It's no surprise that the Chinese Government hates us. Why wouldn't they subtly try to kill us? If you kill our children, you kill our future.
Also it forces large corporations (who get government fringe benefits, but yet don't support our Country) to bring it back home or to an allied country. In turn that brings back job (creating more spending in the long run, and quality products).

I know we'll suffer for a bit, but not for long. If you light a fire under these Corps. imagine how fast they'll figure it out when you hit them in the pockets!

We as Americans NEED to stand up and say, "ENOUGH"!
Who's with me?
Seriously...from today on, "I Plege to NEVER purchase ANYTHING That is MADE IN CHINA"!.

Why not give some of the contracts to Mexico?
Less shipping, easier quality control, and many wont need to leave their families to make money, thay can make it at home. Which in turn may clear up some border issues.

I have thrown out ALL china made toys when I heard about that they were putting lead into the CHILDRENS toys. And now, that I have heard that they have produced CHILDREN products that contain the GHB (aka, date rape drug) I am from (yesterday) here on out, boycotting EVERY thing that comes from china!

There is absolutely no sense in what they have done (or is doing) to our children!

And I come to ponder, is this china's way of introducing their "one child per household" policy to the rest of the world?
hmmmm, it could just be that!!

And, I know for a fact, that there are PLENTY of places that I can go to, to buy my children, or any other child a gift (toy), that IS NOT FROM CHINA! (and if anyone is reading this and thinks differently, then might I suggest that you take a look at what the local's offer in your home town?, because there is people in the United States that take pride in making things, ie: the Amish and small shop owners)

And for those against boycotting everything from china, i appluad you, really, your one brave person to put your child or any other child, and perhaps yourself at a deadly risk. It's your choice to do so or not, but hey, when china gets to the point where they think that the generation that they have targeted against is to austisic or there isn't enough of them to fight back they'll try to ruin the United States and any other country that they want to take over.
Oh, it looks like they're starting, with that money deal.... Sure china, throw the United States into a depression, please, and hopefully then the United States goverment will come to realize that we don't need your sorry bums! And go back to keeping their companies and factories here in the United States.
But keep your lead and your deadly drugs to yourself china. And remember, it's not only the United States that your hurting, it's also your workers that are exposed to the deadly chemicals that they're putting on the toys and other products.

Calm down.I think the American importers are held responsible for this too.The impoter want cheap price, and don't care quality. You should know that different price decides different quality. Many of our customers focus on the quality very much, and the price from China is not cheap, and they would inspect our factory regularly.
The Chinese factories are responsible. But the importers from America do have great responsibility in this supplying chain where they should understand their risks in buying cheap goods.

Take a look around your house and clothes and see where they are made. I did that not that long ago. Most everything is made in China these days. You may end up walking around naked and have an empty house.

I am not against the boycott, just realistic. I catalog shop for a lot of things because I live in the country. In a catalog, it doesn't tell you where something was made, just says it's imported. I have no young children anymore and no granchildren yet. I will be looking for that made in china tag on the toys I buy my cats and dog.

Have fun trying to find something that isn't Made in China.

Most people care more about low prices then they do about the badness of the supposedly communist government in China (which seems to have stopped being communist as of late).

The Chinese government is on borrowed time and will have to give their citizens some human rights or they'll have a revolution on their hands as the growing middle class (who are appearing largely due to export markets in the west) demand a say in how the country is run (people who are starving tend to just accept whoever claims to be able to feed them while those who aren't can actually start to care about abstract things like democracy or freedom).

Its pledge not plege. And this simply shows your limited world and life experience. Business, just like life, is a circle. And any reaction 'we' have enmass will upset that circle, the economy and therefore your lifestyle.
If you choose, out of fear, not to buy food product from China, that is one thing. However if you choose not to buy anything, that could end up coming back to haunt you.
If all of America boycotted Chinese product, that would mean industry in China would dry up. That would mean jobs would be lost. That would mean that the fairly strong economy China has been enjoying would go into the dumper. That means 1,321,851,888 people (the current population of China) would be poor and living in substandard conditions That means that 1,321,851,888 people would be looking to immigrate to the land where the streets are paved in gold. Think of the bigger picture and you will make the correct choices.
Action, not reaction is always the high road.

I buy nothing from China, except for shoes, It is the only country making the shoes I can wear. I have to have a canvas flat sole shoe because I had an injury as a teen and that is when they told me I'd never walk again. I do walk with a cane or walker now.
I don't buy because they are still a Communist country. It has been my practice for over 20 years.

I have been doing this for ages, but sometimes it can be difficult. Recently, I had to even pass on a beautiful children's book because it was printed in China! Even baby clothes. There were 15-20 racks of them - all but 2 were "Made in China."
If we all stopped to look at the label and pass on a purchase that says "Made in China" we'd all be better off. I do NOT know why our government does not have the courage to impose sanctions against China.

Yes and while we are at it, every body in this country that drives MUST NOT BUY GAS FOR 2 WEEKS. We are being bullied by the Oil industry to pay 4.00 a gallon and we know the supply and demand bulls*it is just another convenient excuse to raise the price. It all started with Katrina and the hurricane excuse, now, 20 excuses later, they lay on the Supply and Demand one, it works the best for idiots.

Unfortunately, easier said than done. One has to look far and wide and pay more to find something that isn't made in China these days, but it is well worth the effort and yes, we should all aim for the goal!

Pledging never to buy anything made in China is a fine sentiment, with which I agree in principle, but given the glut of shoddy Chinese merchandise that has been allowed into the country, that is easier said than done. You need to write to your Representatives and Senators and demand that they enact strict inspection regulations against anything coming from China, and that they enact high import duties on Chinese products. That will make it more expensive for people here to buy and provide an incentive to U.S. manufacturers to hire U.S. people to make the products we need in the U.S.

"Free trade," espoused by economists who put their devotion to mathematical models ahead of patriotism, is a fine idea if getting the lowest price is the only thing that ever matters. Unfortunately for our bean-counting economists, whether we trade with another country often affects our security, as the recent influx of lead-tainted products from China shows.

To find out the name of your Representative and the names of the Senators for your state, see http://www.house.gov and http://www.senate.gov respectively.
