Lets say that in a year, that i apply to ten grad schools that are located in places all over the united states. Almost all of these school require an interview. Does that mean to be accepted to any of those universities, i would personally have to go to the school and interview or is it not required that you actually do it in person?

For example, i live in Illinois. If i applied to schools in New York, Florida, Texas, California, and South Carolina, would i actually have to travel to each on of those states to interview or is there some kind of phone interview that schools do?

Yes you do have to interview in person. Decide which schools you are really interested in and limit your interviews to them. Not all schools require a personal interview.
