Just a reminder, it's that time of year again. Anyone at high risk or anyone who lives with/cares for someone at high risk should get a shot. There is no shortage of vaccine this year-so no excuse not to get one!

I got mine 3 weeks ago. Last year my husband said I was being paranoid when I got my shot. He didn't get one. He got a terrible case of the flu and was in bed for 3 days. Guess what? He got one this year.

NO. I've decided not to get one this year. I am taking herbs, vitamines to stimulate my immune system. It's not that I don't know the risks. I'm a health care professional. Just decided to try a different approach. So far haven't even had a cold since I started on the herbs and antioxidants. Also wash my hands a lot. Money and grocery cart handles carry a lot of bugs.
When I have gotten one, I do it a little later so it's working still in March and April which is usually the time I catch whatever is going around.

Actually, I'm not a senior, but my husband and I both got the shots last week, and so did our 21 month old daughter.

The health department in Kansas IS OUT of flu vaccine for ALL age groups, and many doctors are putting patients on waiting lists for appointments until the end of NOVEMBER here.

I don't understand why there is already a shortage here.

We go to the pharmacy once a month for our refills, and the pharmacist always lets us know when he's got the vaccine in. He always holds two doses aside for us.

I love doing business this way, when the folks know you and look out for you!

We had our shots last week. Hubby's having trouble navigating with the walker in the tight space of the apothecary, so the pharmacist came out into the hall to give him his shot.
