i want to phone back as i am lucky to get an auditon but i want to cry i feel like im gonna b soo embarasseds when they find out how crap i am (inside i know i still have talent i know i can do it, but cos i havent acted or done a speech in ages, im terrified) i feel like i am crap.

If you are going to be in front of a camera, how can you be scared to call someone back?

Wow!
What kind of auditions are they? And for what? Film, tv, commercial, theatre? What kind of roles? Is it a real audition or is it an interview with an agent? And is it an audition or do they just want to see you for commercial print work?
I'm imagining that it is an audition for a small role in a play. I might be wrong.
You have three choices. Either stress yourself out and try to cram in a monologue that you will not be able to choose and prepare properly before your audition.
Or you just relax and be honest, tell the truth about when the last time you studied.
There are other alternatives as well, which include not going at all, but we won't go there.
First of all, if this is the attitude you have, it sounds like you are not ready to become an actor. I imagine that the people you communicated with already received some kind of signal in your communication that you are young and inexperienced.
Change your way of thinking.
Just relax. The world will not come to an end whether you get the part or not. Will it? No. What's the worst thing that could happen? You don't get the part? Big deal! If you decide to become an actor full-time, you will receive many, many, many, many, many rejections all throughout your career.
So relax and look at it as a learning experience.
Try to find out what they expect of you and prepare a little, but whatever you do, don't stress yourself out! It's not worth it. Really. And straighten up that backbone of yours and make that call, like a man! If you can't even do that, then you really should think twice about going. But if you do decide not to go, then be man enough to stand up and tell the truth. That's your responsability to yourself first and foremost.
(I said "like a man", because you have a masculine icon. If you are a female, sorry!")
Here are two links from my site that I hope will help you: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_over_stage_fright.html . It will give you something to think about with regard to your attitude and how to be more positive.
The second link will give you some tips for while you are auditioning. You will see that the page talks about auditioning with a monologue, but look at the tips that might help you in any case.
http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/free_audition_monologue.html
Let this be a lesson to you though. Never pad your résumé! Always tell the truth. It could backfire on you. You see, when you go into an audition, you want your mind to be free and clear to concentrate on your monologue or your sides or whatever. By lying on your résumé you have given yourself something else to worry about. "I hope they don't find out that I really didn't do that play." "I hope they don't ask me this." or " I hope they don't ask me that." So don't do that anymore. Remember that, aside from the fact that it is dishonest, something else that is wrong with not telling the truth is that you have to remember the lie you told...for a long time!
Everything will be fine! And no matter what, you will have learned something, which is always good!
Good luck!
Tony

First, use some of your acting skills to "act confident".
Second, call them back right away.
Third, practice "acting" before the audition. If you will be doing a scene of your choice, find something you know you are good at (comedy, drama, anger, etc). Go to the audition prepared to succeed and expect to do a great job . . . but don't fall apart if you aren't chosen.
As for not calling back: You will regret it the rest of your life. "A coward dies a thousand deaths, a hero dies but one."

Go for it Phone them. Whatever you do don't email unless you learn to use a spell-checker first. You have to look and sound professional. You must have at least 24 hours to get your audition piece together. Pick something you know you could have done in the past and believe in yourself. They won't call you again. Sorry if this sounds hard but if you don't believe in yourself no one else is going to. Good luck.

CALL THEM BACK.
Practice first just a bit - practice sounding confident, poised, and ready for this part. Then call, and get the date and time and place of the audition, and go in there and blow their socks off with your performance. Remember - you're an actor.

at the moment the only thing wrong with you is confidence you know you can do it . all you need to do is remember your favourite play or film and act out that part for yourself.
once you are started you will forget nerves. just go with the flow and call them now good luck hope to see you on telly soon

If you don't go ahead with this - you will regret it for the rest of your life.
Think of yourself as 30 years older than you are now.
How do you imagine you will look. What will that older person have acheived in their life.
You can shape that older person's history NOW.
You owe it to that old person to take a deep breath, put your shoulders back and march ahead with your head held high.

been to these sorts of places with a friend. They don't like time wasters and not acting for a while should not be your reason for 'wasting their time'.
Get on the blower, because they won't ring you twice. Then PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
have fun and good luck
