pregnant or not?

The period of menses is caused by sluffing off of the endometrium, or uterine lining and implantation of an egg (actually a zygote or embryo) into it's surface for subsequent development is not possible.

Some circumstances where fertilization occurs in a fallopian tube and the embryo has not completed it's travel to the uterus may result in viable pregnancy -- but that is quite independent of any monthly period and beyond the scope of your question..
