I mean a garden trowel, not a masonry trowel. I need to know the specific differences between the two. I thought the hand shovel was a spade. It was labled trowel. I am confused.

A garden trowel is small, handheld, used for planting bulbs ,bedding plants etc. A spade is larger used for digging much the same as a garden fork without prongs.A shovel is similar to a spade but with curved sides used on construction sites to put cement in mixers
