Hi I'm not sure whether its a trimester or some other type of name

Well -- it's definitely NOT a quarter. That would be 1/4 of 12, which is 3 months. Trimester is pretty good, but to be sure it's understood you should probably just say 1/3 of a year.

I pick trimester!

Do you mean a quarter? 4 months in a year are considered to be a quarter of the year.

U can call it a season or a trimester.. One-quarter also goes along... :-)
