Ok so the college i was attending kicked me out due to an illness in which the Dr asked for the absences in class and chapel to be excused which is the policy in the handbook I provided the school with the necessary documents but they still kicked me out, I was harassed and told that I shouldn't be at there school because of the religious denomination which is different from theres, there is nothing that says you cant attend their school because of what church you attend so they committed religious discrimination, they also treated me differently then white students, I had a roommate that was caught with lots of alcohol in the suite and she didnt get in trouble and she was white, the school also told me many times that I was incapable of doing the course work, Ive been on the deans list and presidents list so Im not stupid and fully capable of doing the work. So my question is this what can I sue for discrimination, harassment, and wrongful eviction of my dorm room, emotional distress?

I also have consulted a lawyer who says it sounds like I have a case, my issue is should I take it to small claims or higher...or both...because I'm also suing for recovering/damages of my property, I wasen't allowed to take anything from my dorm room and when they delivered it things were broken and missing! Small claims would take care of my property and loses due to the eviction, but what about the harassment and discrimination? Only serious answers please ive been through a lot and need some advice!

What does your lawyer say? I would go with what they have to say. Why would you ask people on this forum that have no idea what the whole situation is? There has to be more to the story than you are saying in your post, there is no way that they would even try to kick you off campus for the things you listed above. Consult your lawyer and go with what they say.

Sorry I am not buying that you were escorted off campus without being able to collect your stuff because of missing doctor's notes. There is something very different then that going on isn't there?

I am also not buying that you are Dean's List material - every sentence above is a run on and grammatical disaster, every one! There are no paragraph breaks, and the rhetoric makes no sense at all.

Quite simply, it is not college level work.

I don't see any lawyer taking this case other then to line their pockets with your money while you are vulnerable due to your outrage.

Your best bet is to 'fess up to your parents why you got kicked out, and then set about applying to another school that is a better fit for you anyway. It is not the end of the world, and may be a blessing in disguise.

You really need to see an attorney who specializes in civil rights laws. If you are suing for discrimination, you have to file in federal court but before you do, there are several administrative steps you must do first. You do not have enough details in your post for anyone to adequately advise you of what to do.

Wrongful eviction probably won't work because you were a student, not a tenant of the university.

Your case sounds very complex and deserves more serious attention than anyone can do on this post.

If you have already consulted a lawyer then take his advice. Dont bother with this. We cant give you advice from 2 paragraphs of information. Taking a case to court is an indepth procedure and cannot be decided over the internet. If you are serious about this, get off the computer and hire a good lawyer to represent you. they will then make the decision of what court to go to and what to include in the case.

Small claims court for sure. While you may have a case for a higher court if you sue for outrageous sums of money then it makes you look bad to. However if you go to a criminal court for discrimination and other things and either ask for no money or minimal then it gives more credence to your case.

Good luck

u can probably sue for damages to your property. but are u sure their isnt a clause that says you have to be their religion? if its a private school, they can accept and kick out anyone they want. plus most schools have a limit of amount of time u can miss classes, sick or not. excuse or not.
