Hi

I am from the UK and am going to Las Vegas in a couple of days.

I aware that in the USA ID is required for buying alcohol. The problem is I have lost my Driving Licence and dont want to carry my passport around on a night out, can anyone advise me of other forms of ID they will accept?

Is Vegas quite strict about ID and would I be asked in every bar/hotel? I am 27 and look my age, will I actually need any need ID??

I would really appriciate any guidance.
Many Thanks :-)

It's never a god idea to ID alcohol, just take it orally like everyone else.

You need some sort of government-issued photo ID for any alcohol purchase in Las Vegas. They ARE very strict about ID-ing, and they can do ask for proof of age at any given moment - not just in the bars. (I'm over 30 and get ID'ed on a regular basis. My MOTHER has been ID'ed) They also do it for any credit card transaction. Therefore, you should see if you can get SOME kind of photo ID from your government ASAP if you don't want to carry your passport.

Did you lose your drivers license so you can't get another one? If you can't you'll need your passport. Vegas is very strict on the IDs. I got carded at a black jack table, I'm 47 with some gray hair so they will card.

If you don't look older then 30 they will require a picture ID. In the US we can get a Government issued ID for minimal cost. I HIGHLY recommend getting a government issued ID or carry your passport.

You will have to take your passport.
Make sure you keep copies of passport safe as well.
They are quite strict - generally if you look under 30 they want your ID.
I was getting asked and I was 33 at the time.

You will HAVE to take your passport, you will be ID'd regardless of how old you look. Only photo ID is acceptable.

Apply for a new license it takes a week! I have done it myself!
