They have creative ways of bullying, such as name calling, sneering at progressive ideals, attempting to discredit the nature of liberals. When it happens, it is done in a very hateful fashion, and it is continuing to escalate at an exponential rate. Why?

Thor: You have a valid point. This system of bashing back and forth has been exacerbated by our current leadership. Hopefully a more even-tempered liberal will resolve this issue for our country.

Dave: Do you care that your contribution was not exactly mature? It was more of a 'neener-neener' than anything. That's what kids do, dave. Neener-neener. When you think for yourself, I will accept your contribution. Until then, your 'back at ya' approach holds no water.

Dawg: You are confused. Marxist, Communist and Socialist all refer to types of national government, and are not really relevant to this discussion. True facts are not bashing. When a conversation takes a turn along the lines of a con trying to rub a libs nose in the facts, then I have a problem. If your face were being pushed into a pile of crap, what would your reaction be? And, there are as many knee-jerk cons as there are libs.

Twisted: I am smarter than bush. Even you are smarter than bush. We did not get rubber stamped through the service. We (at least I) have no problem pronouncing nuclear, as well as a host of other common and simple words. His inadequacies make him stupid, not any name calling. BTW- That is 'philanderer', not 'falanderer'. Some Christians are Nazis. I am not familiar with your reference to this. Maybe it is another one of those false facts we have to wade through to get the truth. As for the slinging, both sides have their bad actors. Cons are just more galvanized and viscious, currently.

Maxx: What you consider bashing, I consider defending myself. Allow me to prove my point. As for right wingers being stupid: Not any one side is guilty of this offense completely. I do not like our present conservative leadership and I speak on it, which is my right. For you to even speak to that is identifying my stance for me. I do not allow that, as it opens the door for innacuracies to be stated for me. As a result, your incorrect assessment of my stance on the issue translates into your conclusions being inaccurate. I know nothing about Thatcher and Mulroney. I liked Reagan. He was necessary. He pulled the nation back from Carter's silliness. Both sides are necessary for a healthy democracy. I have been battling against this one-sided bullying for years. I have no problem with anyone expressing their views. When you do it in a condescending way, I have problems. Get ready? Son, I have been ready. Yes, I am on a rant tonight. I am sick of the one sided bullying, get it?

And mudslinging is not bullying. It is just a way for both sides to cloud the issues at hand.

Jimmy: You're back! Welcome! Your easily disputed views are always welcome. You see, Jimmy, you are right. Both sides have their fair share of idiots. If you read a bit slower, you might find that there is more to it. You see, Jimmy, I never stated that liberals were smarter than conservatives. I never stated that libs don't throw their own mud. I am simply not going to be bullied by the ranks of cons who somehow feel superior to libs based on their own contrived notions. I don't follow the liberal media, so I don't know much about Rosie O'Donnell. Please enlighten me, o holder of liberal media knowledge. Keep trying, Jimmy. Maybe you will make sense. Seriously. Don't give up.

Koal: "liberal extremism unchecked can certainly impede the office of the presidency". This is the only point in your ramble that we will both agree on. You are correct, just as unchecked conservative extremism will result in the same fate. Our country is at a point where we must check the conservative extremism. As for the rest of what you had to say - Unadulterated B.S.

I am attempting to defend my position intelligently, therefore rendering any previous question null and void. I am commenting on everyday life, statements by leading conservative pundits, and the rhetoric of the current repbulican bully pulpit, not jackasses on yahoo answers!

Well to be honest from my outlook, (and I'm neither Liberal nor Conservative), Liberals tend to want to blame almost every single problem in America on one person (President Bush).
This is overlooking the idea of checks and balances or the idea of Federalism in the American and local governmental systems. This is especially true since the last congressional election where the opposing party of Bush is in power.
I also don't want to act as though there aren't snide Conservatives (Sean Hannity a master of this) who simply have a childish mentality when talking about liberals.

because the misinformation you operate under seriously damages society and you cant or wont understand despite the best of intentions. conservatives do whatever they can whenever they can to attempt to stop or lessen that action.
if you even bothered to understand what conservatives believe, this would make sense to you.
for example.....
i know what is ....is
lying under oath...REGARDLESS OF SUBJECT is still lying and should be punishable by jail time, not a heartfelt public apology.
i see nothing wrong, illegal, or immoral about giving the taxpayer back more of what he legitimately earned. this country was a world power and leader until 1914 WITH NO TAXATION AT ALL and did just fine. although some government funding is certainly necessary, confiscatory taxation with the intent to fund speculative welfare schemes like hillarycare 2 is not only foolhardy, its DANGEROUS when the government takes on the role of provider and caretaker when people can do that for themselves
travelgate, filegate, whitewater, the catlle futures fiasco, the health care fiaso, the vince foster coverup, the montana land grab, the largest tax increase in us history, etc were NOT character flaws, they were horrible lapses in judgment that show liberal extremism unchecked can certainly impede the office of the presidency.
the tie breaking vote to tax social security(clinton/gore) did no service to the naitons elderly and potentially damaged the retirement of many americans for no pracitcal reason at all.
taxation doesnt encourage the economy, small business and investment do and confiscatory taxation is contrary to what built america
i think you may get my point, however let me be clear so that even you can understand it...IT DOESNT TAKE A VILLAGE, IT TAKES AN ELECTORATE WHO CAN FUNCTION FOR THEMSELVES AND A GOVERNMENT WHO LETS THEM!!!!'
liberals simply cant and wont.

You mean the way they have called President Bush stupid, called Clarence Thomas a falanderer, called the Christians Nazis, called..........oh wait a minute! Could it be that it was the liberals doing that name calling???
Mud slinging happens far too often on BOTH sides of the isle.
Liberals want a free pass to be nasty and then cry about how mean they are being treated. It's a lie, so stop believing it. Both sides are acting like little girls in a hair pulling fight.
Added: Thank you for proving MY point that liberals are the ones who do the bashing in a mean and vindictive way and then hypocritically point their fingers at another. You have proven my point well.

There is no doubt it most definitely works both ways. On this site however, I have seen considerably more content, like yours incidentally, claiming cons are guilty of pretty much every negative character trait there is as well as things like hating kids, hating veterans, hating women and so on. The "bashing" you mention, generally seems to be in response to libs bashing. Before you asked this question, did it not occur to you that liberals are at least equally guilty of this practice? If it did not, you should seriously consider becoming more informed about things, maybe even do some research of your own.

I have seen you do nothing but bash us "Neocons" all night.
You have made so many brilliant statements but they are usually along the line of"why are conservatives so stupid", really intellectually heavy stuff.
Leftists, Communists, Socialists, Liberals, Progressives or whatever name your group is using at any given moment to hide you beliefs have been using the right wingers are stupid line since Lenin.
Reagan, Thatcher, Mulroney and now Bush are all idiots, it is straight out of the Mao playbook, both outdated and boring.
Then when we call you on it or fight back we are mean spirited.
Well get ready boy we are not going away.

Why do liberals consider facts as a way of "Bashing" liberals, usually the name calling starts after conservatives explain, why a liberals knee jerk reaction is wrong....
Do you think words like Marxist, Communist and Socialist are name calling :)

I always wondered when liberals ask "Why don't conservatives think for themselves?" that they are just spouting rhetoric that is rampant with the left and that, in fact, by saying that they are not thinking for themselves.
