After all, it was Thatcher who said that, according to her, there is no such thing as society.

So who are the Tories to lecture anyone about breakdown in society???

I would trust the Tories to make things better about as much as I would trust that odious cretin Geoffrey Archer!

Cameron is trying to invent a new "Tory" way of thinking and divorce himself from the Thatcher years. It is a load of rot since a leopard never changes its spots. Before Blair the Labour party was unelectable and too ideal but at least it supported the working classes. Blair worked miracles within the party. The inane Tories then thought what we want is a young man like Blair who will appeal to the public and get us re-elected. Cameron is not Blair and has none of his talents. Labour took the middle ground and the only place for the Tories to go is right wing which in fact is what they have always been. I get sick of people, even now, praising Thatcher. She was evil and many of the problems we have today stem from her "reign". She advocated "no society" "every man for himself" and "I want now and I will get it by whatever means it takes". It is far easier being in opposition. You simply criticise everything the government tries to do. The Tories are not constructive. Cameron said when he became leader that he wanted a more consensus form of politics. This soon went out of the window. What policies he has (and they are few and far between) are not thought out, he is just saying what he thinks the public want to hear, and are not costed out. The Tory way has always been boom and bust, keep unemployment high so that people in work will always be frightened of losing their jobs, underinvestment in health and education (they and their cronies have never fogiven the Labour party for introducing the NHS and giving the masses access to free medical care) and selling off anything they can irrespective of the fact that the buyers pay well below the true value. Manchester should not feel particularly aggrieved. Dear old Boris has insulted most cities in England and now spends his time apologising to this cities. He like most of the Tories is an idiot. At least he accepts this!

Manchester was a great city as London. That city was maintained and on-going its achievement by its citizens.

In 80's it got a wrong turn by keeping industries of luxury products and leaving low-cost products to China and then India. They forgot that majority people can only affort average products and service in a low-cost. They thought their innovation can be new forever. However, everything got its limit and nothing is new under the sun. At the end, the remaining is some castle-in-airs. As the economy going down, the spirit of life going vanish.

For future, you have to ignore other comments on protectionism and get people to build their desired industries for their own people. Then the society will be re-established and let the Tory to breakdown that new society.

Politicians do it for the money. Being an MP pays well. Being a cabinet minister pays even better. And then there are the bungs - sorry I meant to say consultancy fees.

The Tory party will do anything to get elected. If they reckon they don't have a chance in Manchester, they'll go for the "let's slag off Manchester" vote instead. The Tory wing who currently run the Labour party aren't much better.

So we have a choice - corrupt Tories or corrupt New Labour Tories. And they call it democracy! Bring back Guy Fawkes.

Only individuals.
This also led to "let market forces decide"

And - "Things cost - we must only have what we can afford" regarding health and social care plus old age pensions.

She introduced bureaucracy into the NHS while Cameron is saying what a bad move that was! And he is blaming Blair.

Also there is school dinners, hospital meals, cleaning services in both schools and hospitals, care in the community, selling of council housed with the money locked in a pot unaccessable by the council, enclosed housing estates ( to lock criminals out!!) an underfunded police force, killing off of our energy suppliers - not just the miners you see AND guess what all the things that the Tory's are going to put right when they next get in!
They seriously mucked up this country then and I would be scred to allow them in again!

Y'see there is loads I forgot! Like The Poll Tax - a bit of an oops?
And there is also the fact we should build up our service industry, ie commerse , banking and insurance.
Well we lost the banking to Brussels.
We went to pot as world leaders in insurance went all the names refused to pay out afer the floods. ( being a name is very dangerous financial business!)
All the call centres are going to India and next it will probably be China!!!
And we have no industry!
All through policies of "Market Forces"
Mind you - once we're turned into a third world country - we won't have an immigration problem!!

i became on the game final night and became only 3 rows from the place it handed off. He in no way regarded on the ball as quickly as and for my area is an entire thug! he's a shame to Manchester city and could take delivery of a hefty ban! i'm a season fee ticket holder at Manchester city and in all honesty it became the worst 'project' if thats what you may call it that I surely have considered in a protracted time. A long ban is mandatory and in step with probability some community provider!

Manchester is a key city in the Tories electoral strategy. At present Manchester is a virtual no-go area for Tories - check out the number of MPs they don't have there. They have to find a way of undermining the traditional Labour hegemony there. This report, by a Tory "think tank", is one element of that strategy.

What great City is that then.

Manchester is a dump and looks exactly like a Lowry Painting.
