Yes, if you are pregnant an OPK will read positive. Basically, HCG, the pregnancy hormone, is the same as lutenizing hormone, the stuff an OPK reads, it just has a little something extra that's specific to pregnancy. So, while you can have a positive OPK and not be pregnant, if you are pregnant an OPK should always read positive.
Now, as for your situation, the whole 14-days before your period is a complete myth. While a week is kind of short, it is totally possible that you ovulate a week before your expected period. I personally have a 9 to10 day luteal phase, meaning I ovulate 9 to 10 days before I get my period. So, you may very well be ovulating a week before your period and doing the deed at the wrong time of your cycle (14 days).
Having positive OPKs at weird times in your cycle could mean lots of things:
1) You will ovulate within the next few days.
2) Your LH surged gearing up for ovulation, but for some reason it didn't occur, so you surge again a little while later and really ovulate then.
3) You keep surging but never actually ovulate.
4) Your surge lasts a long time -- I would get positive OPKS for 3-5 days straight, even after I knew I had ovulated. For whatever reason, it just took a long time for the levels to lower for me.
5) You're pregnant.
6) You have PCOS -- some women with this condition have elevated LH levels all the time, making OPKs unreliable tests for ovulation.
The best thing for you to do is start charting your basal body temperature and cervical mucus. Combine that information with OPK information and you'll get a much better read on whether you are ovulating or not and when during your cycle you tend to ovulate. There's ton of info on the web for charting, I personally used Fertility Friend, but the best souce is Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler, which you can get at most book stores.
Good luck!
Edited to add: In answer to your last question, yes, it's possible to have a positive OPK 5-6 days before your period and not be pregnant. The reasoning? Say you're like me and you ovulate 9 days before your period. Your LH starts to surge and you get your first positive OPK, which means you will ovulate within the next 24-48 hours. Well, if you're like me, the OPK will stay positive for a few days, bringing you to 5 to 6 days before your period with a positive OPK.
On the other hand, with my first, for whom we tried for 2 years so I was an old pro at charting, OPKs and fertilitytreatments by that time, I tested with an OPK four days prior to my period and got a positive, so went and got a pregnancy test, which also turned out to be positive.
So, any time you get a positive OPK, have sex again. And, wait a dway or two and try testing with a real pregnancy test again. Ya never know. :)

If you are already pregnant, it may always show a positive for ovulation because the hormone for ovulation and the hormone for pregnancy can sometimes read the same for the urine tests. It may have inconclusive results.

Giving birth to a new life is indeed a blessing which almost every woman would wish to have. How to get pregnant naturally https://tr.im/2k7q6
Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

Hi! I don't think ovulation kits have the 'thing' in them to be testing for HcG, the hormone in pregnancy.
Some women ovulate later in their cycle than they thought, or more uncommonly, some women can ovulate twice indicating a higher chance of multiples.
My hairdresser (and good friend) always got two positive ovulation days every month (about 5-7 days apart) but still conceived one baby.
I would wait 2-3 more days and test for pregnancy (using a pregnancy test) and see what it says. You could indeed be pregnant! Oh and have sex again now to make sure if you were ovulating that you have another chance at conceiving!
best of luck and fingers crossed for you!
