It depends how the vote is taken. If it is a voice or a show of hands. yes! If it is electronically no. there are electronic voting stations through out the Senate building,and their offices. OR if they are instructed to be present for voting.

Senators must be physically present to vote such as confirming members of the cabinet as one of their duties aside from making laws.
