Will they have proven themselves that they can be a potential playoff team even without Brand?

I have to admit their wins against Golden State and Seattle weren't very impressive. But winning against Chicago on the road was impressive, despite Chicago's losing streak. Also their win in Indiana was extremely impressive because they didn't have Cuttino Mobely, Elton Brand, Shaun Livingston, Brevin Knight, and Ruben Patterson, but they still pulled out a huge win. And they didn't win by a few points, they were up by 20 near the end of the game. Also Indiana was 3-0, which was a huge win for the Clippers. I think if they can beat an undefeated Detroit team with a high calibur defense, the Clippers will finally have proved themselves.

It's going to be huge if they can pull out a win in Detroit. All the teams in the Pacific Division is sort of in a slump right now. It's good for the Clippers to get out to a head start. In the ever competitive Western Conference, any type of lead and any wins they can get early on is an advantage to make the playoffs. Psychologically, this has to be a great start for them.

It's way too early to declare the Clippers winners without Eldon Brand and Shaun Livingston. If they stay competitive until Brand gets back in February, they ought to make the playoffs.

Too bad they won't win in Detroit. The Pistons will do amazing, like usual, and win by 30.
