Well it depends on what you mean by web sites. There are collector sites like Yahoo groups. There are a lot of people out there trying to sell these items to you. There are no free sites that will help you value your items for them you pay. The free sites are really very little help. Books and magazines are the best way to keep up with things. There is Coin World and Numismatic News which come out each week and have monthly price guides with them. There is Bank Note Reporter that come out once a month with a price guide and for the world coin group there is World Coin News a monthly. then there is Coins and coinage magazines they are monthly. Numismatics is still really in the book stage with the web bit way behind. At this point it is cheaper to print a reference book than have a site. It was nice to see 3 World Coin Standard catalogs available on DVDs. Hope the above helps.

As long as you are not looking for a fast, easy or free solution you could build your own website using SBI. SBI provides hosting and all the tools and help you need to develop a fully functioning website, and caters especially well for people with no or limited experience with html etc. But be warned, although SBI leas you throgh each of the steps to create, publish and promote your site, it is still a lot of work.

My craft site is only a couple of months old and growing all the time. I have included the address below if you would like to see an example of what you can do with SBI. I have also included a link to more information on how to turn your passion for a hobby into a viable website.

Whatever route you end uptaking with your website, I wish you the best of luck!

Picking up on Deb M's answer about SBI sites, I used SBI to develop my site, http://www.valuable-coin-stories.com .

It's been fun putting this together, and I highly recommend the SBI organization as a web host, that is, if you are asking how or where you could develop your own site.

If you're asking where you can get info on coins on the web, there are tons of sites available.

Another good site is http://www.us-coin-values-advisor.com/ which has an interesting slant on coin valuation and investment based on past performance.

Also check out the web site of the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) at http://www.pcgs.com/

Then there are the coin auction companies, where you can look at fantastic coin photos and learn something about the more valuable pieces (which are often accompanied by extensive write-ups describing their history, etc.) Good examples are:

Bowers and Merena
http://www.bowersandmerena.com/

Stack's Rare Coins
http://www.stacks.com/

Heritage
http://coins.ha.com/

Goldberg Coins and Collectibles (fantastic coin photography)
http://www.goldbergcoins.com/

That will get you started. Have fun.
