Not too sure about the spelling, it doesn't sit right with me. But other than that kudos for wanting to spell his name differently =) I love names that are unique or uniquely spelt. Maybe you could spell Alexander differently if you like that name? One you and your husband agree on =)

I realize there are certain cultures that regularly use forms such as Aleksandr or Oleksander (Russian and Ukrainian, by the way), but this is generally limited to the "ks" rather than "x" forms. "Aleczander" isn't a proper spelling inherent to any language I'm familiar with, and as such, only manages to come across as a poor misspelling of a very common name.
In other words, I'd have to agree with your husband. Making up an incorrect form simply for the sake of purposeful misspelling IS odd. Can't say I care for it.

Personally i don't like your spelling, I think that it looks careless that you couldn't spell Alexander properly. Plus if you are looking for a unique name, by the time your baby is born Alexander will be unique and Aleczander will be common!

Yes, and trust me...it's a pain in the butt when people can't spell your name or pronounce your name...I became very shy as a child because I hated having to constantly repeat my name over and over.

I'd stick with the traditional spelling, think about him learning to spell and what others may say

Its strange, yet unique. Ya'll need a name you can both agree on, it will make the situation a bit sweeter.
