Coup is described as encroachment upon functions of all other institutions of a Sate by one of the institution. Emergency is described as State apparatus functioning without accountability and public and media has no Right to criticise it.
India's Higher Judiciary is doing both these things, but the bloodless coup and undeclared emergency by Indian Higher Judiciary is not the attention of World media, though people are suffering more from it in India than probably the Pakistanis by Pakistan army. But why India's Higher Judiciary has succeeded in potering as Sacred Cow?

Judiciary has the power of check and balance as against the other branches of government. However, a coup d'etat could not be staged by the Judiciary since it has no arms.
