I used to live in Florida, a half-mile from the time change (Appalachicola River). Most of our local shopping and professional services were in Central time, and I lived in Eastern time. It was typical to have to doublecheck which zone my appointment time was for. I can't imagine working in another time zone but people did it all the time.

I always found it amusing that on the shortest day of the year, I had an extra hour of sunlight (5:00pm sunset) compared to the other side of the river (4:00pm). Sux to be them!
