He is in a 2.5 litre tank, and the temperature is consistently below 20 (during the peak of the day I can get it up for a few hours, but thats it). I needa heater, but they are all designed for tanks way to big.

He doesn't need a new tank - he has more than enough space in this one!

I have found this heater, but I stil think it is too high...

HYDOR Mini Aquarium Heater 7.5 Watt for tanks up to 5 gallons.

Any suggestions for another heater or comments on this one?

Thanks =D

This tank doesn't even hold 1 us gallon of water
You need at least a 10 litre tank that you can put a 7.5 watt heater in there
if you don't you will kill your fish
and a bigger thank isn't ridicolous at all
here is an article on proper habitat for a betta

You could look into something like a small under-tank heater made for reptiles to place under the fish bowl. That hydor heater is the smallest one you're gonna find to go inside the tank. A bigger tank would be beneficial though. Most people think bettas don't move much but I have one in a 10 gallon tank and he swims around all the time.

Even if you think it's ridiculous, you should get a bigger tank that can properly house a betta. The fact that you can't find a heater for your tiny tank should be a hint that it's not an appropriate tank size for a fish that requires heated water.

There are self-adjusting heaters for 2-5 gallon tanks that would be perfect to keep a betta healthy and happy.

That's the problem with smaller tanks, you can't heat them properly. You're tank is about the equivalent of about 1/2 gallon....that heater will most likely cook the fish. Sorry, but the best way is to go with a larger tank, like 19 litres to properly heat it, and even then, you still have to watch the temperature closely so it doesn't get too hot.

And that temperature, 20°C/68°F is way too cold for him.....should be up around 25°C/78°F.

dont try to put a heater in tank 5 gal or smaller or you will kill it because you cant control the temp fluctuation. The water should be at room temperature at all times, why is your room temp below 20 degrees?

Have you looked at the heaters for BiOrb tank?, they are only small and may be OK for your tank, it might be worth taking a look at one.
