Eighteen, after I was date raped. Then again when I got married for the first time at 23. And again any time I would move out on my own away from my ex-husband.

Well, I was twelve/thirteen when my family took an amazing trip around Africa and Europe. I think being in Ghana that summer, I saw the "real" world there. By that I mean that I saw something other than the rich and spoiled life I was living over here, being ungrateful for what I had when those people over there were so....well....REAL. They were honest and caring and kind and grateful and generous. I learned a lot from them.

Six years, i started to earn money and saw how cruel the world is. Extract more work out of you and pay you very very less, in a way as if the payment made is also a favour.

About 7. My mom was a drunk, and my little brother would follow me to school in his pajama's on his tricycle and beg me to stay home........
I learned life wasn't fair, I couldn't l always be what other people needed, and that stress causes stomach aches. And that guilt sucks but is a great motivator.

FYI- she sobered up by the time I was 14 and is still sober now and I am 45! But that memory of my little bro still lingers at times.

I was 18. My mom stole from me and my step-dad covered it up for her. I learned if I can't trust my parents, then I really can't trust anyone else.
