How soon can you find out that your pregnant? My husband and I had sex during time of ovulation which was Oct 28th through Nov 1st. We've had sex before ovualtion but mainly did the right things during because we are trying to conceive a baby. Is it too early to have signs of pregnancy? Reason why I ask is because my boob's have been VERY sore the past couple of day's, my nipples hurt really bad when they are touched or even having a bra on. My veins in my boob's are showing more then what they usually show, and I've been having bad headaches, I also get VERY tired. I don't know why I get tired through out the day, I get enough sleep during the night. Do you think I could be pregnant, or is it still too early to tell? Thanks bunchs xo!

I got my first positive test 13 days after getting pregnant. The positive line was very light so I tested again and all together 12 test (haha). All 12 test were positive and each day the line come back darker and darker. After my first few positive test I went the doc a few days after and he did a pee and blood test there. The pee test came back negitive but the blood test came back positive. I was in very early early pregnancy and that is why my hpt were coming back with a light colored line. But my first positive line came back 13 days after sex. And I know FORSURE that was the day I got pregnant! Since then I have had a miscarriage and it is the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. Good luck!

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

A blood test though would show if you are pregnant or not 7 days following conception.

If you know roughly when you ovulated this time, but not when you ovulate normally (that is, if you dont know how long your luteal phase is) then I would wait 15-18 days after you ovulated.

If you know when you ovulated and know how long your luteal phase normally is, then wait til the day after your period is due, or possibly the day it is due.

If you dont know when you ovulated or if you dont have a very good idea of when (if you cant pinpoint it to two or three days) you ovulated, then defer to Julian'sMommy's post:)

It is possible to have sore, swollen, tender,or tingling breasts as early as a couple of days after conception--That info came right from my "What To Expect When You're Expecting" book!
