How come people aren't more organized when they're shopping for groceries?

When putting their stuff onto the conveyor belt, they just throw it up there all willey nilley instead of organizing in some manner so that the cashier can bag it accordingly. Also if it's more organized, and bagged properly it's much easier to put away when you get it home.

I always organize my stuff just out of habit. Cans are all together, frozens, boxes, bottles, etc. My fiance drives me nuts because hes a willy nilly person and the bread always gets smushed.

Some of us were unfortunate enough to be standing at the end of the line when the organizational gene was being handed out.

I even turn the items so they see the bar code! I have such little time to get everything done that I have to be organised when I shop.

I like to put all the same items at once and I like to put heavy stuff first so it goes in the shopping cart first and not suish my soft items.

i have my own bag so i do that because i am interested
i put the cans first, then other hard stuff like bags of rice, then ground meat or fruits or bread

personally, i like to bag my own things, because i know where they r going when i get home. freezer upstairs, downstairs, fridge or pantry.

I am quite anal about doing that. Frozen, meats etc all in their right place! : )
