50's Browns.
10 straight championships games. 10 year record of 114-20-4 (.851 winning percentage) for both regular season and postseason. Combined regular season record of 105-17-4 (.861). 47-4-3 (.922) record in the AAFC, 58-13-1 (.817) in the NFL after the merger. 7-3 in title games (4-0 in the AAFC, 3-3 in the NFL), 9-3 in playoffs overall.
Note 1 - The Browns 6 straight NFL Title games came back when only 2 division champions (out of 12 teams) made it to the postseason.
Note 2 - The AAFC was not the AFL, but another professional football league that predated the AFL. In 1950 when it folded, the Baltimore Colts, Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers were all accepted by the NFL as franchises.

It's the 70s Steelers.
Hall of famers:
Offense: Bradshaw, Swann, Stallworth, Harris, Webster
Defense: Green, Ham, Lambert, Blount
49er HOFers:
Offense: Montana, Young (Rice will be when he's eligible)
Defense: Lott
On a side note, the Steelers drafted Swann, Lambert, Webster and Stallworth in the SAME DRAFT (1974)... anyone else ever have a draft like that?
# of Pro Bowlers:
Steelers:
1974 - 8 (won Super Bowl)
1975 - 6 (won Super Bowl)
1976 - 11 (that team didn't even win the Super Bowl)
1977 - 9
1978 - 4 (won Super Bowl)
1979 - 10 (won Super Bowl)
49ers:
1981 - 6 (won Super Bowl)
1984 - 10 (won Super Bowl)
1988 - 6 (won Super Bowl)
1989 - 6 (won Super Bowl)
The teams that the Steelers defeated in the Super Bowls were much better than the teams the 49ers defeated.
And , as has been pointed out, the NFL rewrote the rule book in order to try to curb the dominance of the Steelers.
Both the Steelers and the 49ers were well represented in the Pro Bowl (as one would expect)...it's the Hall of Famers that set the Steelers apart.

90's cowboys. They created a dynasty when dynasty's were meant to stop. In the prime of plan b free agency and all other systems to set up equality throughout the entire league. The upstart Cowboys traded away the talent (H.Walker) to create a dynasty. This trade will go down as the all time one sided trade in the history of the NFL.
Jimmy Johnson was before his time. His draft strategies are still used by all teams today to work out trades. He brought a more professional player with higher performance levels.
It is close as the 80's 49'ers had the west coast offense, 70's Steelers gave you the steel curtain and say no more about Lomabdi's Packers and the browns. The cowboys are the one for me.
When will we include the 00's Patriots though.

Hard call....All excellent teams of their respective decade but it is hard to say which team was dominate overall for the fact that the game of football has changed from in between each of these teams. Example: The teams of the 70's, 80's and 90's were bigger stronger, maybe faster, but I can project the teams of the 50's and 60's to be better tacklers on defense......

Never saw the 50s or 60s teams, so I'll take the Steel Curtain of the 70s. They didn't just beat teams like the others did, they intimidated and dominated.

I would have to say the 70's Steelers because they had the best games and the toughest competition in the Super Bowls.

Most rules in the NFL today had to be made in responce to the absolute domination by the 70's Steelers, so my vote goes to them.
They were the best of all time.

the 49ers of the 80s. besides all the hall of fame/really good players/coaches they had...joe, steve, rice, walsh, seifert etc...and "the catch" they had 4 superbowls in that decade including a back to back title in 88 and 89.
