I think it depends on the villin. Guy like Lex Luthor who isn't a brawler, I'm thinking free balling. Now, Parisite who could cripple him, he might slip a pair on, in case he winds up on the JSA's or Batmans Operating Table. Mamma Kent always said wear clean underwear in case you get into an accident

dude... initially, they do no longer look to be underpants one- they do no longer look to be 'below' something 2. He wears Tights, no longer Pants The gown/uniform includes shirt, cape, Tights, trunks, Boots and belt considering that 1938 it has developed somewhat, w/ the S/ shield transforming into a no longer elementary edged Pentagon, as antagonistic to the early shield shape, and then triangle by way of fact it has regarded in shade, the shirt and tights are Blue, the trunks, boots, and cape are pink, and the belt is yellow on occasion the trunks would be drawn as a darker pink, very almost black and the cape would or will possibly no longer have a Yellow shield w/ the S/ in define the gown relies on the kind of circus strongmen interior the 30's, and is a seem on occasion utilized by using professional-wrestlers, and potential lifters, in that it helps a transformation of shade, and provides a 2d layer of spandex over the reproductive area (which in case you ever wore, you will understand how skinny / translucent it incredibly is

Bugging you for years? It's a costume on a fantasy character aimed at children 3-15. You must have been pretty young when you began to ponder about what Superman has under his tights. I think you're missing the point of the character entirely if you are older then 12.

Of course he wear underpants underneath as well!! Since he is kryptonian, his wiwi is a lot, lot bigger than human males. Failure to wear at least two underpants will lead to flight imbalance.

He only has the outerwear, which as I recall was a gift from his birthplace, but given his ability to blow air past his nose hard enough to knock over passing locomotives its likely that
flatulence destroyed a lot of hardwood chairs before Super-
man found self-control enough to pull on mere human attire.
I'm even inclined to speculate that it is his own extra-ordinary
posterior gas passing abilities that allows flight. It must be
an unusual pucker where the sun never shines to vent Super-
man all about creation; jet powered, one might suppose.

He only started wearing his underwear on the out side. Due to an unpleasant landing, and ripping a nice hole in his bottom. so since he was in the bushes anyways.. he thought I'd bet nobody would notice, if I wore my underwear overtop of my costume. And the rest as we know it ,is history..
Lesson learned here, never leave home with out your underwear!!

David Lee Roth once explained something about Spandex, which applies here. Only thing you sneak underneath is powder.

well the purpose of undies on guys is to keep the 'ole block n tackle in place as you move around.

With that in mind, since he's got the undies on the outside, he doesn't need a 2nd pair, plus flying up high it gets really cold, so shrinkage happens, making it even less necessary.

Superheroes were drawn with their underwear outside so people would find them similar to the strongmen and wrestlers that were largely famous at the time.
