being reliable is good....being reliable without the ability to draw boundaries and no when to say no is not good

Yes, it's called a sucker. People find out that you are too reliable, word gets around and shortly others will take advantage of you at every turn and you as the reliable person will continue to be reliable to prevent from letting others down.

Being too reliable has it's problems. People sometimes take advantage of it and take it for granted. It's good to be known as reliable, but not when it is over used.

Yes.
At my job, I've been asked to cover/substitute for co-workers who called out numerous times. Each time I have agreed, and I didn't have a problem with it (it meant good overtime pay for me.) But eventually there will come a day when my boss will ask me to work on day that was originally scheduled off. I will have an important appointment set for that day, and it's gonna surprise him and put him in a jam when I say no.

yes, there is. i am a reliable person. a few people have taken advantage of me because they knew i would get the work done. that they could just sit on their hands and not have to spend any of their effort. at times, it really gets to me.

Yes and no. If you're too reliable it's not reliable anymore, it's predictable. It's not good to be to predictable.
