Yes, though today they are so sanitized and empty that you get almost no sense of the horror that happened there. I do believe we should keep the physical places, but I think virtual reality programs and great films will probably have more emotional impact.

I feel for historically purposes why not? I mean really what historical site did have a good significance in history? However, to many it maybe a painful reminder of the past, but we must learn from the past..and years from now our future generations will only be able to read about history and not be able to visit historical sites b/c in different countries (such as my own) these sites are being bought over by the public and transformed into useless garbage.

First, because it is evidence. As the last survivors are dying the deniers are coming out again.

Second, for the historic value. Auschwitz is the site of the largest mass murder in history.

Third, to remind the Jews not to let anybody else run their lives.
