They have cars that fly that cost less than 3 times the price of my car, they are called airplanes. It takes 40 hours to get a license to fly a plane only when the weather is nice and another 40 hours to be allowed to fly it when the weather is bad. I think a world of flying cars will never occur. There are a lot of reasons from cost, mx requirements, airspace, accidents, cost and training. cars that drive themselves is a viable option that is already under development and i think they will be a necessary tool in the future especially in congested areas such as LA or Miami. The cars work by reading sensors that are placed in the asphalt in the read and by communicating with other vehicles with the same software. The issues there are what happens if there is mechanical issue or flat tire, the cars will also be high tech and more expensive. There will still be 2/3 of the population who cant afford a new car who will be driving old school cars. It will happen but it is a ways away.

Can I just keep the car I already have? I'd be afraid to let the car drive because I don't trust machines, and I would be afraid to have a flying car because I don't have a team of mechanics to check it out every day and make sure it's not gonna break down in midair.

I would rather have a car that drives itself. I can get to any destination and sleep the whole way in the drivers seat! Cool.

The one that drives itself- although I would have a tough time because I like to be in control. I don't even use the cruise control!
