There are fewer than 6 dozen eggs in a basket. If I count them by 2s, there is 1 left over. If i count them by 3s, there are 2 left over. If I count them by 4s, 3 are left over. If i count by 5s, there are 4 left over. HOw many eggs are there????

I know it's an odd number and its a pattern.

To see this, notice that if we add one more egg to the basket, the number of eggs is divisible by 2, 3, 4, and 5, so since it is at most 72, it must be 60. So taking back the egg we added, we get 59.

since it was 4 more then a multiple of 5 and could not be an even number, it had to be a last number of 9. 2 we don't have to worry about as long as it is odd. So four 4's 16+3 works, but 18 is a 3 multiple. And no even 3 multiple will work since the final number cannot be even.

less than 72.
odd.
5 rule, ends in 4 or 9 but has to be odd so 9.
9's not divisible by 3:
19,29,49,59
leftovers from 4's:
3,1,1,3
leftovers from 3's for 19 and 59:
1, 2

59.
