The recent article I read said that one fourth of our nation's homeless are Veterans. The figure I used to hear a lot was one third. Seems like the number of homeless Vets is going down. Either that or they are dying off.
This problem is not new. Veterans returning from the Vietnam war began dropping out of society almost from the beginning. Their problems are too varied and too many to lump into one category.
I'm certainly not a Bush supporter, but let's be real here and don't try to throw the blame at him. It's an old problem that isn't going to be fixed until we elect enough Veterans to the Senate and House of Representatives. Who is President doesn't matter a whole lot as far as this problem goes.

You need to get a clue moon boy. 30% of the Vets have always lived on the streets roughly...since the Vietnam war. So why you blaming Bush ? why not Jimmy Carter ? why not Clinton ?
You seem to be a sloppy Bush hater. If your going to bash him, at least bash him with facts, not your liberally tainted , little understanding of what has transpired.
And how about that Vietnam war ? Your democratic leaders supported the anti war movement and look what happened.
over 1 million people in Laos and South Vietnam sent do prison camps or killed, you weakened America's credibility with our allies. And what for ? Who did the liberals really do it for ? They screwed our allies, they didn't do it for the troops either because most returned to being called murderer's and baby killers, they didn't do it for peace because it resulted in a literal blood bath or our allies, I'm not stupid enough to think they did it because they liked North Vietnam, since they didn't care about South Vietnam.
So all in all, I guess they did it out of their own selfishness. They wanted to force change of something they didn't like, almost sounds like mob rule, and in the end......regardless of how well intended the idea was, it turned into one of the forever known holicausts that American history will never forget.
So, the problem now is to get you ultra libs to think before you act. Maybe apply some of that grey matter and consider the reprocussions of the future.

Logical Fallacy.
What do the homeless vets from every war prior to this one have to do with George W. Bush?
I hope you're not a big fan of Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, or GHW Bush. You'd have alot to answer for.

Just where are your information soueces, and where is the logic?
Yes, there are those pointing ot a derived statistic that 1/4th of the 'homeless' are veterans -- or, claim to be. So, who is checking on those claims?
The last census showed the population percentage of homeless to be in decline. over the last seven years. By about 45%. (Coincides with reduced taxes, which the poverty-stricken homeless wouldn't pay anyway...)
I'm a Vietnam Vet. I am not homeless, nor do I know of any of my fellow vets who are homeless. I see the diatribes as pure BS.

i as a full blooded american, born and raised am handicapped with a lot of illnesses and a broken back. my state took my medicade away. i need the oxygen and a power chair which they took away because i started my social security, and they said i make too much money with my husbands check too. we make 1,500 a month we have rent and bills to pay.like rent, maaxed out credit cards from trying to keep up on my meds. yet all the iraqis where i live get medicaid, and as much in retirement. look at all the money bush wants to help iraq and then he lets his own people suffer. also did you know that all the soldiers in hospitals have to pay for their meals?????? also if an amputee from the iraq war wants to work they cant get anyhelp to get a car or truck modified for themselves unless they or their families pay for it.

Im just wondering, im a veteran.
If i lost my job and became homeless.
What the government would have to do with it ??
Do you think the government should provide me housing, just because i used to be in the military ?
And i read the same article you did, I noticed that there are less homeless veterans now, than there used to be.
Was that because Bush did something ??
I don't think so.

The government typically recruits poor people - people whom are despirate...
(watch Micheal Moores, 9/11 movie)
anyhow chances are these people would be living on the street anyhow...(being as poor people often stay poor)
plus
you have to be somewhat messed up to think its good to go to another country and kill people - right?
why are there no people in government with their kids fighting in Iraq??
