It depends... at different points in our lives, we have less or more to offer.

The answer is honestly... what we can afford to give of ourselves after we take care of ourselves and those who need us first.

In terms of both income & time spent ..I can't excatly quantify in either absolute or percentage terms , but Yes I do spend quality time in doing charity & charitable works.

My girlfriend is a carer & I own a wheelchair accesable vehicle. We take people to fun places, help around the house.
We would get paid, I recon, One hour for every, five. It is instant reward, knowing the difference one can make in others lives, without costing too much. Be efficiant when you give, a smile dosn't take much & it increases in value in the giving.

I don't have a set amount, if I can contribute when there is a need, I do. During my tough years I contributed more of my time than money, now I tend to have less time to spare, but more cash, so most would think I am generous.

2 days a year for one charity, and I cannot even count how many hours or money on "adopted" families for the holidays.

None...i steal from charities so that when i order pizza i can get it with extra cheese and anchovies instead of just cheese. sometimes, if i've pulled money out of the church offering dish i can even get french fries, too.

those 5 seconds it takes me to reach down my bag for some spare change and putting it into the tins of those people standing on the traffic lights.
im not proud of it though.

im in roots and shoots so i give 1-3 + hours to that every week.
