I have a Canadian $50 bill that has been out of circulation twice over meaning that two other $50 dollar bills have been printed and removed from circulation after this one. It is in good to excellent condition, I found it while going thru some family belongings that have been packed away for many years. How would one determine the value of it today or does anyone have an estimate of its present value?

I find a series 1935 $50 but only have a retail book value in grade good it sells for $720 and goes up to $3,080 in very fine condition. There are two types one in English and one in French-this one is worth more. There is also a series 1937 $50 but I would need to know who signed them. Two sell for $70-$125 in grades above and the J.A.C. Osborne at left is $400 to $1,500 in Very good to Very fine. You need to see a dealer in Canadian currency. Try gatewest coins in Winnipeg Canada. WWW. gatewestcoin.com, email usa@gatewestcoin.com. You can also try J&M Coin in Vancouver www.jandm.com email coins@jandm.com Both are dealers who advertise in Coin World and Numismatic news.

I would look around, see if anyone was watching, if not, pick it up and then zoom over to my friend Eat an Apple Drink a Snappel's house except I would bring a bottle of good wine because I am not much of a beer drinker. I might buy an I-tune card for my teenage son. And if there was any leftover, I'd put it in the bank so I'd have some to spend later. These days, ya gotta stretch that $100.00 as much as possible. And yes, I have had people steal a lot more money from me than that on purpose, so I would pick it up with a clear conscience figuring that if I wasn't meant to find it, it would not be there! ♥ ☺
