When co workers dont do their jobs? I work in a food establishment (Wendy's) and a co worker was asked to mop up a mess in front of the door three times before he went home but he never did. As I was walking out the door a few minutes later I slipped and smacked my head and my elbow and hurt my knee. I was pissed! The manager said he will deal with it but I want my chance at him. Also I am not too old(34) so I can brush it off but the majority of our customers are the elderly folks from the church next door, what if it had been one of them?
Am I wrong for harboring bad thoughts towards this guy?
Would you say something to him or let management do it?

The reason I wont sue is because its his fault not the managements. He told them that he cleaned it and they trusted him besides im not hurt enough to worry about it I was just bruised slightly and pissed alot more.

No you should be pissed. I work in a fast food chain too and this employee violated a safety policy and it resulted in an injury. Make sure that you filed all of the appropriate paperwork and go to the doctor whether you think you need to or not and make sure tha Wendy's pays for it! It may not be appropriate for you to say something to that person, but if your manager just "talks" to that employee and you don't feel that the punishment is deserving then you need to take it to a higher power whether it be a General manager or a district manager. Don't just brush this off! You should not have to work in an unsafe environment!

Oh, I would have more than a few words with this person. You hurt yourself and you have the right to speak your mind. I do hate when people don't do their job. I worked in the medical field and I often see people work harder at not working than actually working. It pisses me off also.

Why aren't you suing them for industrial injuries.
The management knew it was there, so acknowledged the danger, they didn't get it sorted, therefore are responsible.
And management are more likely to do something about the "slacker" if they know that it could cost them money.
And YES you have every right to be annoyed at them

somewhat sturdy question. Dropped seize. that's problematical while the bowlers been toiling via the innings striving for that wicket and the possibility finally comes and the seize isn't taken. i'm used to run-outs with the aid of now having Shah, Bopara and Bell in my group

Let management do it if you want to keep your job. Maybe at 34 you could get into management yourself and fire the jerk.

let management deal with it.... I know it sucks but if you say something to the guy and it escalates, you may end up losing your job and it's not worth it.

if that was me, I would let him know what happened and that I was very p*ssed at him, the fear of what I "might" do to him would make him scared to come to work. and if he did, I would really push the issue with the boss, carelessness needs to be dealt with
