I would hope not. Supposedly the Sampson option would only be exercised if Israel was destroyed by Arab bombing. Then, the Israeli navy and air force would nuke the rest of the middle east.

I don't see how mutual destruction is a "real option" for anyone. It should simply NOT be an option. When the US and the USSR had intercontinental ballistic missiles aimed at each other, Americans did not think that blowing up two continents was an "option". It was a horror to be avoided. That's why we wound up with arms limitations, and treaties.

The only option that would definitely work would be to turn the middle east from sand into glass...radioactive glass.
