I agree that what they do IN PUBLIC is up for grabs, just like what anyone else does IN PUBLIC, but why do people think it's acceptible to try to justify gossip, prying, etc. about celebrities just because they're celebrities?

becuase they are a popular face, its just like the popular girl in highschool, if they found out she had sex with the whole football team, alot of people will gossip and would want to get deeper into it. if i was sitting next to paris hilton eating a hot dog and she eating one too, who is going to get most of the attention? Paris of course becuase shes a popular face, they could give a rats butt hole about me becuase i'm a nobody.

people will make a big deal about stretch marks or love handles becuase they have a popular face, or if a celebrity looks at a tree!! its just silly.

They have the right to live their lives as they wish and also they are entitled to their privacy. It must be hard to be a celebrity with everybody knowing your business. For this reason, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes for any amount of money! I guess some people have nothing better to do than to gossip about somebody famous.

I don't assume its right, but it is human nature to be interested in other people's lives. Particularly famous, attractive celebrities. Most of us will never have that glamourous life, so we enjoy snooping into their's and gossiping about their latest antics. For me, it is a little escape from my day. I enjoy reading People and In Touch. I don't believe every single word of it as gospel, and I don't believe that I know what these people are really like based upon these articles. I just think of it as a little entertainment.

Don't forget that a lot of these celebrities become celebrities because they CRAVE that kind of attention. Their publicists plant stories in tabloids and tell them where to go to get their picture taken, as well. It is great for their career. Some celebrities prefer a low profile and manage to stay out of the papers and maintain their privacy just fine.

We wouldn't know very much about celebrities lives if they weren't the ones doing the talking. They are smart, they know what they are doing.

prob because it has been that way for a long time and now it is even worse with the tabloid magazines... shows on the internet... etc....
i understand that celebrities have a right to privacy but in the same token... they know what they are getting into when they sign up..... and some celebs are great at keeping a low profile..... i think that some just make a spectacle of themselves and thus kinda get what is coming when you are famous

I have no idea. I get pissed off at it though. I don't buy the gossip mags anymore, it's all lies and rumours and crap. People who parade themselves in public shouldn't get mad at photographers. Plenty of celebrities manage to live their lives in private by eating out in places where they won't be noticed as much, not partying in the clubs where they know the paparazzi will be waiting, etc.

Mob mentality. People with no lives live vicariously through "stars" hoping to get a fake rush out of their lives. Some of our "stars" have figured this out and go out of their way to make headlines and fools of themselves just for the exposure. Too bad it has to wash over onto other "stars" who prefer to remain modestly oblique in their private lives.

Honestly i agree. People are bored with their own lives or they have lives that they wish they did not have. It is a lot easier to criticize some one that is in the public eye then taking a look at your own life and critiquing it.

most people believe that celebs lives r 10 times better than theres, when the truth is really they're just like us....but w/ more money. they figure its fair to observed celebs like lab rats and spread crap about them just so people have something to wake up in the morning for. the truth is society is filled w/ people who want exciting lives and since they don't have that they read about someone who doesnt really, but seems they do. the people who write thoses nasty article usually aren't doing it for their own satisfaction, they do b/c they need the moneyl, but hey thats just my opion

because people are bored with their own lives. Honestly, who cares if Davey Havok is gay or straight? Who cares if Michael Jackson has sex with a woman? Who cares if Paris Hilton sleeps around? It's their lives, let them live it how they want.

That's part of the price of being famous.
