What do you want to make it out of? If you know how to knit or crochet, you could make it that way. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to make it out of. sorry.

You could do it with quilting and batting, HOWEVER-camera cases are specifically designed to protect your camera and screen. A croceted pouch would be pretty but probably wouldnt be much protection if you dropped it. Shop around, there are MANY different sizes of cases out there. I am now seeing cases designed by the different manufacturers for their specific cameras. You want the bag to protect the camera and the screen, a "cute" pouch might not do the job. I got mine at office max, it is small and actually quite cute (red and looks like a tiny backpack) and has a zipper pouch for extra batteries or memory cards. I measures about 3x5x1.5. Hell, if you want to make it unique, you could always bedazzle it! LOL! :)
Good luck

Do you know how to crochet or knit?
If you do I would think you could make something really simple.

Use lots of batting and a nice waterproof nylon. Here is one suggestion
