I'm looking to buy a 50' ethernet cable. If I buy one on ebay for like 2 bucks + 10 shipping, is this of good quality?

This is what I'm talkin about: http://cgi.ebay.ca/50-FT-CAT5-CAT5E-INTERNET-ETHERNET-CABLE-FOR-XBOX-PS2_W0QQitemZ320179946871QQihZ011QQcategoryZ51183QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

That looks like a good cable. Cat 5e will be plenty fast, and it has molded tips, which will make it last longer.

For home use there is not that much of a difference.

In a workplace environment I never compromise on cabling prices, I have spent far too many years crawling under desks, through ceilings and in places I really don't want to mention, trying to fix bad cables. So I try and get good quality ones.

For home, it doesn't really matter. Usually the cable gives no problems themselves, but the ends, which can be replaced.

But, if an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

There are differences between cable types (CAT 5, CAT5e) but you shouldnt have to worry about it if your just using it for a gaming console...CAT5e is fine.
