Hey, everyone. I was making some cookies and after I took them out of my oven, an alarm went on and had singular beats for about 10 sec. After I turned my oven off, 10 min. later I went back to it and it's still a bit hot. I'm wondering if carbon monoxide can be coming out of my oven, I'm not sure if the alarm that rang was a CM alarm.

Was it a carbon monoxide or a smoke detector alarm? It would be unusual for a gas oven to release carbon monoxide. You didn't say what kind of oven (gas or electric) and of course an electric oven could never do that.

There should be a label on the CM alarm that says what its alarm signal pattern sounds like. Smoke alarms tend to be a steady sound but the CM ones are encoded. If you heard beats it was like the CM.

Next time you hear that call the Fire Department. They would rather respond to an unnecessary alarm than have to cart your body out of the house if there really was toxic gas in there.

Where did the alarm come from? It sounds like your saying it came from the stove. Sounds to me like the oven was telling you it was up to the set temperture. I would get familar with the alarms in the house.

if you have a gas oven its more of a gas leak - but first check the batterys - i would also just make sure the oven vent if it has one is pluged it might have just released a bit of smoke and set the alarm off
