Im sorry, but i think 10 is way too young to be charged even as a juvenile. I went through the pyro stage as a youth, and got a good scolding/grounding from my parents for things that got out of control.

This is what I think should happen.

Family is responsible for paying fines / restitution.
Child should be required to go see & continuously monitored by a psycholgist / therapist to ensure that the boy checks out, and wont pose a future risk.

What do you think?

He should absolutely be charged, and his parents too. His family should pay restitution? You do realize these fires caused literally billions in damages to both private and state property and that people even died in them don't you? We don't have laws in this country harsh enough to give him what he deserves.

Depends. If he's one of those kids that screw around in school and are known for causing mischief, I think time in juvie would serve him well.
