My friend's parents just saw it and said it was way to scary for a 12 year old that is not afraid of scary movies. It's not that it's scary, but it is just really sad and well kinda scary. maybe next year.

I would rather check them out myself and work out ... this is a scarey movie, this is a very adult movie, this is more fantasy movie and this is really disturbing.

Horror films very much are aimed at teenagers and how they handle growing up and often full of metaphors surrounding this where the wimpy inncoent girls often gets strong and ends up fighting and defesting the bad guy and leanrins not to play fair and break the rules.

Thats good but others like torture porn , things like texus chainsaw massacure and others are very adult

Often basic scarey movies are the mainstay of early teenager couple bonding... ie go scarey movie so boyfriuend gets to hold her tight as all scared , arm goes too far round her, feels up boobs and they start kissing... is pretty common.

certainly things like Lost Boys and Gremelins are fine.

things like nightmare on elm street 1,3,4 are actually quite good if you look at underlying themes

anything involving sexaul violence is a nono.

Oh yes, if he is mature then it is fine. First I would ask him if he gets nightmares from scary movies, because that can deprive him of sleep. But otherwise if he can deal with it and he's mature, I think he'll be just fine. =)

Umm it really depends on how scared you get and what makes you really scared. If it doesn't take much to get you scared then I wouldn't recommend scary movies apporpriate but if you don't get scared that easily and you won't be scared after the movie and be scared to even go to bed or do anything and be scared if something's behind you then it's fine.
