Absolutely not.

Americans are far more closed minded and non-practical about sexuality than the Romans. One main reason is that life in Rome was much more communal than life in modern America. Most households consisted of one room only; children would have been exposed to (likely discreet) sexuality between their parents from early on due to the living arrangements. Sex was merely another need like eating, drinking, etc. Sex was seen as a very practical part of life in Rome. Also, Rome was not as subject early on to the oppressiveness of Christianity.

Before Christianity, sex just wasn't seen as "dirty".

no. in the past people were not yet civilised, so they were doing it out of primitive reasons. today, sexual openness seems to have become a pleasure and excitement.

I think that people in their late teens-early 20's do. I wonder if they'll still be that way when they are older.
