some people seem to have pets just for protection or whatever. i travel in the country areas a lot and see many hungry cats and tied up dogs in the summer and winter. pets are like people and have many of the same needs. they just want to be loved and they love us no matter what

my dog is totally part of the family.
well, to me anyways.
he is my buddy. He's always right by my side, if I go in a room and shut the door he lays right outside the door until I let him in.
He sleeps in my room, and right now as I'm answering your question he's sleeping next to the computer chair.
He is always so happy to see me when I get home, and it feels so good to know that he ALWAYS loves me, even when I'm having a bad day .... his happy face (I swear he smiles) and wagging tail can make ME smile no matter what I'm feeling like ....
He's just as important as family - he IS family.
I love my human family, of course, but Jack is my doggie family, and I love him very very very much ...
:O)

My pets are my family and live in the house with me. The 2 cats never go outside and the 2 dogs only go out when they want to.

My little dog is definitely my baby. Absolutely spoiled rotten but I know what you mean, it makes me soooo sad to see them tied or caged up outside. I often wonder why even have a pet then.

Our Posa is one of the family....since she now has a human brother and sister now she doesn't get all the attention though. But she is the only "kid" allowed to sleep in our bed at night....under the covers even! She is a chihuahua and is beautiful!

i totally agree with you... our dog was family and we put off paying all of our monthly bills to pay vets to try and get him well, but it wasn't meant to be....... our cat is family too, my sweet baby -- where my brother lives, cats are always coming around there malnourished... he takes care of them until he can find someone to take them.... it's so sad how people just discard their pets along a road like garbage

My pets were most times better than any family you could have, I loved them, and still, cry because I miss them so much! I love all animals, and it really breaks my heart to see so many strays, and abused, and abandonded animals. wish I could have, and save them all!

Yes, all three of our dogs seem to think they are human with the way we treat them. Our cats are more standoffish, but we love them anyway.

My pugs are actually Better than me. Their bloodline goes back to the Ming Dynasty in 500BC and they are much smarter at getting what they want out of life.

My doggie, Roxanne, is my baby. She is very attached to me, as I am to her. She always cries for me when I leave. She always wants to be where I am. She even gets jealous when my husband tries to love on me. She always wants my attention, just like a human kid.
