You have to eventually!

Wait....you are in your late 20's and get an allowance???? Wow that is so wrong. I have never heard of someone that age getting an allowance, its one thing to still be at home with mom and dad but getting an allowance???? How can you call yourself a woman when you get an allowance? And your parents take away your keys?? Sorry but you are still a CHILD. Your parents sound a bit controlling. I think it is time to grow up, get a job, and move out. I am 26, I live on my own, I have since I was 18. I am married, I have 2 kids. I am not saying that is how your life should be, but, if I were not in my present situation, and still lived at home, there is no way in hell I would be taking allowance or allowing my parents to basically ground me. Don't ask for advice, simply do something for yourself, be an independent woman.

So, who's paying for the car then? At least they are treating you like a child if you so want to act that way. Just how much is your allowance? That just blows me away and you call them evil? I don't know of any parent that would allow their adult age child to still live with them and pay you to do so! You are still under their roof, so live by their rules or get out. I think that I would just help you by packing your bags! I would be looking for a job if I were you. It might get your car keys back. lol

If you don't have a job, how can you pay for a car? You need to help us understand why a late-20s woman doesn't need a job to support herself. Are you living off of an inheritance, or something?

I daresay your parents are ready to move on to the next phase of their life as empty nesters -- which is hard to do when there's still a kid-in-a-woman's-body lounging around with no job and no plans to move on with her life.

Frankly, I'm surprised they haven't kicked you out.

I would have kicked you out a long time ago. How can you look at yourself in the mirror? Late twenties and still living at home, getting an allowance from mommy and dada. Forget your car keys, they should take away your house keys. GROW UP! It's "women like you that give us all a bad name. Get a job and get a life.

Firstly it's your life, but if you have 3 braincells working you'll wise up a little and listen to ole pappy Ian's sage advice for youngen's like yourself.

Firstly you may be getting an allowance, but honestly, do you like being beholden to your parents for your liveleyhood? Go out, get a job and be your own woman, after all no man worth a cracker is going to have anything but utter contempt for you still living off your parents at your age.

Secondly, drifting along aimlessly in life like you currently are is not really good for you in the long term. Apart from the fact that you'll eventually become bored with your life you'll also find that as you get older your friends will drop away as they get married and have their own lives to lead. You may be the party girl for all we know but sooner or later the party will end with a thud and it will be you who suffer for it.

Your parents give you an allowance but they took away your car keys? That's VERY contradictory. Either they want to support you or they don't. Either way, you're still living in their house, so if they want to take your car keys away, they can. If you don't like it, get a job, get an education and MOVE OUT! Otherwise, quit whining.

The problem seems to be that YOU HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING. I'm actually wondering if you are asking this question out of perverse boredom.

There is something seriously wrong with a person in their late 20's who doesn't work. If anyone needs help it is your parents. They spoiled you, and now they have an ingrate daughter who is possibly considering doing them harm because they've had enough of your sloth.

Yeah, I knew you weren't a person in their 20's just by your title, why do parents have o be so evil? Parents can legally kick you out the moment you turn eighteen. Get off the computer and get a real life instead of making up pathetic stories on the internet.

Your parents evil!? Are you kidding me? You are in your late 20's and being treated like a middle schooler. Get a job, pay for your own vehicle and move out of your parents house! What is wrong with you!?

Well thats what you have to deal with for living there, parents say if you live in my house you live by my rules. If you got a job and an apartment you would be free to do whatever you wanted. A real "woman" would not be living with her parents in her late 20s and would care about going somewhere with her life.
