I don't know why you republicans support the oil war in iraq.

2007-11-07 15:11:17 · update #1

Yes, because there was a reason to attack iraq, right?? NO!! If we hadn't attacked, there would be no problem.

2007-11-07 15:13:01 · update #2

It is because you want to keep your military and attack countries for your own personal gain.

What makes you think I don't understand how the world works?

2007-11-07 15:16:58 · update #4

By going over there and attacking, we are actually going to make a difference? Or are we just going to make it worse?

I'm going to prove this war for oil business is nonsense once and for all.

If oil is all we wanted, all we had to do is request sanctions against Iraq be lifted. Much of the rest of the world would have went along, as the sanctions were not working. Then Iraq would have been free to sell it's oil on the open market.

Has the US gone in, seized the oil fields, and been pumping and sending oil to the USA from Iraq? No. Yet more proof.

No. We went to war because Iraq was believed to be a threat due to WMDs. We were wrong, but that was the reason. And the war has been handled poorly since then, until just recently.

There is no such thing as peace. . . There will always be something that isn't peaceful somewhere in the world. You can't have good without evil.

Now to your other statements. . . . . The fact is that you and people with your opinions keep focusing on "We shouldn't have went to Iraq" Congratulations that you figured that out but seriously we're over there now so stop saying that statement. And support our troops because IF we pull out now all of those people American's, British, and Iraqis will die in vain. All of those peoples deaths and injuries will be for naught. Is that what you want? Do want those thousands that have died to have their blood spilled for nothing? If we pull out now all of the efforts that have happened will be reversed and our children will then have to go over and fight the fight that should just be finished now.

By the way don't believe everything you see on the news. There are a LOT of people over there who rejoice in having us over there! I know because my father was a soldier stationed in Iraq and they visited schools and gave the kids candy, toys, and school supplies. And there are pictures that were taken where Iraqi women are hugging the soldiers and Iraqi men that are smiling and shaking their hands. That answers your question of are we making a difference. . .YES we are!

If the media would leave then things would get so much better. The worst parts are where the media decides to station itself. The bombers go to those places because they know that what they've done will get reported all around the world.

Wow so many great answers. I would just like to add that for us to live in a peaceful world there must be 100% participation JJ. Saddam was evil and wanted nothing to do with peace and never will. Unfortunately there are many other leaders in this world who are exactly the same as Saddam. There are also the people who live terrible, oppressed lives under the reign of these dictators. There may be peace in the world that you live in but not in theirs. If you lived under the oppression that they live under you would want someone like the USA to come in and overthrow the tyrant so you could have a chance at a real existence under democracy. What our country is doing is good and unfortunately is being lied about by politicians and media simply for political gain and that is very sad in my opinion.

The reason why we don't think you understand the world is because your questions are naive. Just to answer that. About peace. I would love for the world to be a perfect place with no wars but that day I am sorry to say will never come. See almost everyone wants peace but it is the select few in every society that brings us to war. If we want peace we have to fight for it.

I want peace. The only way to end a war is to win it.

We had a peace treaty with Hussein. He violated it. We took him out. End of reasoning to that one.

Secondly, if it really was a war for oil, why are we allowing the Iraqis to keep it?

The war is about oil, not for it. Huge difference. We cannot allow muslim terrorist nations to control the oil that runs the economies of the world.

We do want peace. We have to fight for it. There are people out there that want to cut off the head of ever person that isn't their religion and make their women wear burkas. You have freedom now because of the brave soldiers that fought for it.

Fine, we'll leave and let all the terrorists kill the iraqi people and take over their government by torturing and cutting off the heads of bystanders... then you'll all whine that we're not doing anything to help those poor people.

Here's some cheese...

With peace, comes a uncertain market. When were in a war, the billionares KNOW what companies will profit, therefore they maintain massive stock gains.

JJ, pls... what make you think we don't want peace. I've seen you other questions and you obviously don't understand how the world works.

I hope you'll be able to understand in the near future.

It isn't about whether we want peace now... The future will tell if our actions prevent a larger scale war later.
