I like it to be somewhat dark, but not too dark. I want a little light so I can at least sort of see where the hell I'm going if I have to get up for something. If I'm in complete darkness I get severly disoriented and fall over. I had that happen to me a couple nights ago... fortunately I was next to my bed! ^_^
