Biggest McDonalds, Walters OK where I lived for a while when young, interesting but scary weather, Roger and Hammerstein's musical. Rough and tumble state, independent tough people. Dust bowl. Touches Texas,
Has a panhandle. Used as scene in Annie Proulx's, "That Old Ace in the Hole". Pork farms. Holy City (of Lawton?), I went there. Fort Sill, my Dad was there after WWII for a few months, we stayed in Walters. Mountains, but they are small.

I think of a family friend who died earlier this year. He was from Oklahoma. I still get sad just thinking about how he's gone.
