You look in your TV guide and find the videoplus code for the programme you want, type it in on the appropriate screen, then the video will record the programme. If you set PDC (Programme Delivery Control, it will adjust the recording time to the actual start time. For example, if your programme is due to start at 7, but starts at 7.05, the video will delay the start of the recording accordingly.

There is a simple look-up table/algorithm that translates
the plus code to Channel: Start Time: Duration, all the info you need to record a program.
