Hiccups are caused by spasms of the diaphragm. Therefore, take small, frequent breaths, like panting, and that should work.

hold your ears closed, exhale all your air and drink a whole glass of water through a straw without inhaling. hold your breath for as long as you can after you finish the water.

this is a fool proof method: stand up and take a big gulp of water, then lean down so that your head is between your legs and swallow slowly until it's all gone.
