Forget about what's popular. You need to decide for yourself what you believe is right and wrong. I'm 36 and I'm still a virgin. I'm no loser. I'm a soldier in the United States Army.

Ok well here's how I see it. . . ..
First off it's a double standard. . . It sucks but hey we can't change it and girls are just as guilty at creating them as guys are.
I'm engaged to a wonderful man he was 22 when we got together. He was still a virgin and hadn't been in high school for 3 years. No one considered him a loser because he was a virgin. They gave him a hard time about it but in confidence most admired him for being one.
I know a lot of girls who were virgins until the age of 17 or 18. I don't consider them sluts now. Here with my friends and in my town we consider a $lut to be some one, not just women, who has slept with more then 5 people in roughly about 5 years.
If women stopped calling each other names. . . like $lut, whore, street walker, ho, etc then guys would EVENTUALLY follow suit because they want to look cool to girls.
Most guys I know WERE still virgins when they graduated high school and those who weren't had every intention on being with that girl for the rest of their lives.
Most people that say they're having sex aren't really doing it. The ones who are doing it don't say anything they just don't talk about being a virgin or not being one anymore, because they don't want the reputation. They just think that it's the cool thing to say. . . Guys say it because they think that other guys will call them losers and to girls they won't be desirable or "date-able". Girls say it because that is the crowd they hang with. It's "uncool" to be a virgin. But it's not and they sound trashy. They also say it because that means that more guys, supposedly, will want to date them.
This is what I've found true. . . . my mom always used to tell me "Why buy the cow if they can get it for free" Another words men will not be likely to want to date a girl long term or marry a girl that has been around the block or gives "it" up easily. The same goes for men. In all honesty I wouldn't have dated my fiancee if he hadn't been a virgin because he was older then me and I was a virgin and didn't want to think I was being pressured into anything.
Good Luck. . . .

It's just the way the world works. Nothing is really going to change this perception, it actually seems to get worse and worse. Notice that "slu^" is usually a term a girl calls another girl... rarely is the guy saying that if he sleeps with her... but it happens. The way to fix this personally would be to not tell people about your personal life if you do have sex. I had sex back in high school and I didn't tell anyone because it was my business not theirs and I kept my good girl image to this day.

Because this has always been a man's way of getting women to stay in line, because women can have sex whenever they want, men didn't like that, so they have to play on a woman's self identity. Sort of like when a guy can't have you, they will dog you out, like you are a slut. Like, have you ever told a guy "no", and then what was the first thing the jerks say "whore, didn't want to go out with you anyway".
My opinion....hope this helps!

Because it's the standards people have built up for both boys and girls. When a boy "gets some" that's his manhood but a girl is suppose to be proper and polite and all the stereotypical things people have built up for us, it's not right I totally agree and people need to stop being so stereotypical because they wouldn't want people saying it about them.
